SDR/BDR Manager
About Magma Math
Magma is one of the world’s fastest-growing and most celebrated edtech companies, transforming math education through the power of AI. Our platform turns handwritten solutions into digital insights, empowering teachers to focus on creativity and deeper learning — while giving them real-time visibility into student progress.
The result? More inclusive, engaging, and effective math classrooms for all learners.
But we’re not just building better tools. We’re tackling one of the biggest challenges in global education: math underperformance. With 1 in 5 students globally struggling in math — a subject that forms the backbone of so many career paths — we believe the opportunity to improve outcomes at scale is massive.
We’re already the go-to solution in thousands of schools — and we’re just getting started. As we expand rapidly across the U.S. and Europe, we’re building a team as ambitious as our mission: to help millions of students unlock their full potential in math.
The Role
We're looking for an SDR/BDR Manager to lead, coach, and grow our national Sales & Business Development team. This is a pivotal role sitting at the intersection of pipeline generation, team development, and hiring. You'll be responsible for both the results and the people behind them. The role covers outbound prospecting, targeted outreach, and events across the country. You'll work closely with Sales leadership to ensure our SDR and BDR team is equipped, motivated, and consistently hitting their targets, while also helping shape what the function looks like as we scale. This leader will set the tone for a high-energy, in-office culture and isn't afraid to have the hard conversations when performance demands it.
What You'll Do
Serve as the direct manager for our national SDR and BDR team, owning day-to-day performance and development through regular 1:1s, cold calling coaching, event coaching, and group training sessions
Build and iterate on the SDR/BDR playbook, including outreach sequences, talk tracks, event engagement strategy, and onboarding curriculum; this is a cornerstone of the role
Own pipeline targets and success metrics, holding the team accountable to activity, conversion, and quality; address performance gaps directly through structured performance management and share insights with leadership to inform strategy
Partner with Sales and Marketing to refine outreach strategies, messaging, and flows in Gong Engage, maintaining hygiene and workflows within the platform, and coach the team on how to effectively engage district leaders at conferences and in-person events to turn event presence into meaningful pipeline
Hire and onboard new SDRs and BDRs as the team grows, identify skill gaps, and create development plans that help team members grow into future AEs or senior roles
Champion a strong in-office culture across all locations, showing up as an energizing presence that motivates the team and sets the standard for engagement and accountability
What We're Looking For
4–6 years of SDR or sales experience, with at least 1 year in a team lead or management capacity
A builder's mentality. You've created structure and process where there wasn't any before and thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments
A track record of hitting or exceeding pipeline targets, with demonstrated experience managing performance, including setting clear expectations, delivering candid feedback, and navigating difficult conversations with care
A natural motivator and coach who leads with energy and optimism, gets energy from developing people, and knows how to keep morale high across a geographically distributed team — while still holding people to a high standard
Experience hiring and onboarding SDRs/BDRs
A genuine believer in the value of in-person collaboration, with a track record of fostering strong office culture and presence
Familiarity with HubSpot, Gong Engage, and/or K-12 EdTech is a plus
