Management Associate
About Magma Math
Magma is one of the world’s fastest-growing and most celebrated EdTech companies, transforming math education through the power of AI. Our platform turns handwritten solutions into digital insights, empowering teachers to focus on creativity and deeper learning - while giving them real-time visibility into student progress.
The result? More inclusive, engaging, and effective math classrooms for all learners.
But we’re not just building better tools. We’re tackling one of the biggest challenges in global education: math underperformance. With 1 in 5 students globally struggling in math - a subject that forms the backbone of so many career paths - we believe the opportunity to improve outcomes at scale is massive.
We’re already the go-to solution in thousands of schools - and we’re just getting started. As we expand rapidly across the U.S. and Europe, we’re building a team as ambitious as our mission: to help millions of students unlock their full potential in math.
The Role
As Magma's first Management Associate in Germany, you'll be the right hand to our Managing Director as they lead the country's growth. This isn't a traditional support role - it's a high-impact, high-visibility position at the heart of everything we're building in Germany.
You'll take on a wide range of responsibilities: from shaping how Magma is positioned in the German market, to prepping high-stakes meetings with political stakeholders, to helping drive customer success and commercial operations. You'll represent the German team at trade shows, work with journalists and influencers to build our brand, and keep the engine running so Sarah can focus on what matters most - closing deals and growing the market.
If you thrive in ambiguity, think a few steps ahead, and want to see the real-world impact of your work, this role was made for you.
Responsibilities:
Keep everything running - from owning end-to-end event and trade show execution, to supporting customer success and building the core organisational processes that make the German office hum
Be the German office's anchor - own the calendar, travel, documentation, and team coordination
Be ready to hit the road - this role involves frequent travel across Germany and internationally to represent Magma at trade shows, events, and stakeholder meetings
Build the German brand - establish Magma's positioning in the market through consistent messaging, social media, content assets, a strong presence at industry events and trade shows, and starting to cultivate journalist relationships
Drive stakeholder engagement - research, prepare briefings and agendas for high-level meetings (including political stakeholders), then own the follow-ups and tracking
Operationalise commercial & financial activities - support RevOps, finance & controlling, legal/compliance, and GDPR-related tasks
To succeed in the role you need to
Bring high energy and a "no task too small, no challenge too big" attitude
Think in second and third steps - when something lands on your plate, you're already thinking about the implications and what needs to happen next
Be a natural communicator - whether in a political briefing room or a trade show booth
Handle ambiguity without breaking a sweat, and know how to prioritize when everything feels urgent
Be curious about EdTech and genuinely care about improving education
Requirements
A track record of initiative: student associations, extracurricular leadership, or other evidence that you go beyond what's asked of you
Fluent in German (native or C1-C2) and English
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills - you can manage a complex, shifting workload without dropping the ball
Ready to work hard, move fast, and grow fast
Bonus: recent or upcoming degree from a top university, or equivalent demonstrated excellence
