About Magma
Magma is one of the world’s fastest-growing and most celebrated edtech companies, transforming math education through the power of AI. Our platform turns handwritten solutions into digital insights, empowering teachers to focus on creativity and deeper learning — while giving them real-time visibility into student progress.
The result? More inclusive, engaging, and effective math classrooms for all learners.
But we’re not just building better tools. We’re tackling one of the biggest challenges in global education: math underperformance. With 1 in 5 students globally struggling in math — a subject that forms the backbone of so many career paths — we believe the opportunity to improve outcomes at scale is massive.
We’re already the go-to solution in thousands of schools — and we’re just getting started. As we expand rapidly across the U.S. and Europe, we’re building a team as ambitious as our mission: to help millions of students unlock their full potential in math.
The Role: Chief of Staff
As Magma scales internationally, we’re looking for a Chief of Staff to work directly with our founders and leadership team to drive clarity, focus, and execution across the organization.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role at the very heart of our growth. You’ll operate as both a strategic thought partner and a hands-on operator, helping transform ideas into action across teams and time zones.
You’ll be the connective tissue across Product, Sales, Customer Success and between key markets — Sweden, the UK, and the U.S. Your mission: to ensure we set bold, measurable OKRs each quarter — and actually deliver on them.
From improving operational efficiency with the U.S. sales team, to supporting the board with decision-making materials, to working with our founders on org design and company priorities — this is a role for someone who loves to make things happen and thrives in fast-paced environments.
What You’ll Do
- Own the OKR planning and alignment process across all teams
- Partner with founders to turn strategy into execution — fast
- Lead and execute on high-priority cross-functional projects and remove blockers
- Act as a force multiplier for our U.S. expansion efforts
- Build communication structure across Product, Sales, Success
- Prepare board and investor materials that drive clarity and action
- Solve complex business problems that create value, improve performance, and maximize growth.
- Collaborate across our Stockholm and New York office
Who You Are
You combine sharp strategic thinking with world-class execution. You’re structured, curious, and thrive in ambiguity — and you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves and handle gritty tasks when needed. Additionally, we'd value if you are:
- Exceptionally ambitious and outcome-driven
- Experienced project leader — detail-obsessed and fast-moving
- Curious, humble, and not afraid of ambiguity, grit, or getting your hands dirty
- A natural leader and strong communicator
- Structured thinker with a talent for simplifying the complex
- Deeply comfortable navigating both strategic and tactical challenges
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any field (with an outstanding academic and/or extracurricular track record)
- 4+ years experience in high-performing environments (e.g., top-tier management consulting or high-growth tech)
- Proven track record of leading complex cross-functional projects and driving measurable results
- Exceptional Project Management Skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in parallel — and still deliver with high quality
- Bonus: Proven excellence in any field beyond academics (e.g. entrepreneurship, sports, creative, volunteer leadership)
Why Magma?
- You’ll work directly with the founders and leadership team
- You’ll shape how we scale internationally from the inside
- You’ll work across both strategic and operational layers of the business
- You’ll help define what great looks like for this role
